Today six young people graduated
from our Religion school. For most this was the culmination
of a journey that had begun when they joined the Religion School at the age of five or six.
Many Sunday mornings later they now stood before the congregation
to pledge their loyalty to their religion and their people.
In so doing they expressed their thanks to their teachers, parents
and friends. They spoke individually on their thoughts about
the past and their hopes for the future. Topics covered
included The Holocaust, The State of Israel,
learning, faith, commitment, the performance of Mitzvot, and
Jewish status and identity,
It was a great privilege to witness this occasion. Mazeltov
and thank you to Rosa, Anthony, Ben, Sophie, Olivia and Robert.
